WJJQ: Minocqua Popcorn, Robbins Flooring Advance in ‘Coolest Thing in Wisconsin’ Competition

A growing Northwoods snack company and area sports flooring manufacturer made the cut in an effort to determine the ‘Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin.’

On Wednesday, Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce announced 16 finalists from more than 100 manufacturers large and small in this annual friendly competition.

Among the sixteen still in the running is Minocqua Popcorn and Puffs, for their gourmet popcorn. The Northwoods company just made the cut as the 16 seed. They’ll face top-seeded Pierce Manufacturing and their high tech electric fire truck.

Meanwhile, Robbins Sports Flooring in the small Langlade County town of White Lake comes in as a 10 seed. They make the maple hardwood flooring found in many NBA and college basketball arenas. They’ll face an agricultural harvesting cart built at H&S Manufacturing in Marshfield.

Voting is now open for the next round of the competition at madeinwis.com .
