From socks made in Sheboygan to a guided missile frigate made in Marinette, northeastern and central Wisconsin manufacturers once again are well-represented in the 2024 Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest.
The 130 initial products have been announced and the first round of voting is underway to narrow the list to 16 finalists.
Some of the products might be instantly identifiable, while others might only be known by industry pros. But that’s part of the point of the Coolest Thing contest organized by Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce and sponsored by Johnson Financial Group.
“(M)any people are surprised to learn what types of products are made right in their own communities,” said Nick Novak, WMC’s vice president of communications and marketing, in a media release. “This contest is a fantastic way for employers to showcase their workforce and output.”
