I-71 Southbound over the Scioto River is a steel plate girder deck bridge that is an overall length of 4,675 feet with a structural steel weight over 6,922 tons and is supported by 23 piers peaking at just over 100 feet above the river. Traffic will enter this bridge on a gentle curve that straightens for a moment as you cross the Scioto River before entering a strong curve and exiting the structure with a pleasing view of the Columbus skyline in the rearview.
