Eastern Wisconsin is being well represented this year in the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin competition.
Each year, the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) and Johnson Financial Group host the competition, where some of the most interesting things made in the state battle it out to see which one is the “coolest”.
There are a total of 151 nominees, and four of them are out of Manitowoc.
The big blue crane built at Broadwind made the list, as did the 50 foot Cruiser made by Burger Boat, the Fusion Lighting System created by Energybank, ISON PureMotion UVC made by Orion Energy Systems.
There are a multitude of other items made in our area of the state on the list as well, including an archery target made in Sheboygan, Jolly Good Soda, which is made in Random Lake, and drink glasses made with a bullet embedded in them made in Appleton.

The field will be reduced to 16 after the initial round of voting ends on Tuesday (September 21st).
