Helping to ensure patients have great radiation therapy treatments and outcomes begins with a finely-tuned linear accelerator, and that starts with the Standard Imaging DoseView 3D. The DoseView 3D QA water phantom is intended for radiation therapy machine QA, as it is designed to perform periodic tests of linear accelerator or radiation source-based patient irradiator performance. As a 3-axis water phantom system, it acquires and manages positional beam data accurately, efficiently, and comprehensively. Beam data acquired from the DoseView 3D is typically used for 3 objectives: acceptance testing, commissioning, and periodic quality assurance. The system is comprised of several components, including the water tank, 2-channel electrometer, ionization chamber detectors, controlling and reporting software, and a lift cart with water reservoir, motorized lift mechanism, positioning platform and unidirectional pump. Water is utilized in this machine QA application to represent the human body as it is comprised of approximately 65% water.
