A local soft drink maker and packager has made the cut of the top 16 “Coolest Things Made in Wisconsin” contest presented by Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce and the Johnson Financial Group. The annual contest which has become a popular event is now in the round of 16 bracket…also known as “Manufacturing Madness” in the tournament-style contest of noteworthy Wisconsin products.
Krier Foods, a 114-year-old company that has grown from a small farming company in the Village of Belgium to a major beverage maker and packer based in Random Lake, has its “Jolly Good” brand of soft drinks competing against such products as ships built in Sturgeon Bay, a molecular diagnostic device made in Neenah and snow removal tractors produced in Brillion. In the current series of voting, Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce has pitted eighth seed Jolly Good Soda against the 600 Series Folding Chairs made by K-I of Bonduel, which is seeded ninth.
Voting in the current round runs through October 4th, and the top 8 will be announced next Monday.
